Art Club
This club meets monthly with a group of students to create and explore the fine art curriculum outside of school. This popular club attempts to allow all students an opportunity to join and have fun with innovative projects and lessons.

Bike Rodeo & Safety
All 3rd graders and up are welcome to participate in Bike Rodeo each year. The event is held after school out on the blacktop in early September. The students receive a safety lesson from the AH police department and then run thru many stations assessing their bike riding ability (stopping, riding slowly, weaving, turns, etc). All students also go through a helmet check for proper fit. Participation in the Bike Rodeo is required for students to be able to ride their bike to school on their own.

Owls Play Outdoors (f.k.a. Camp Fit)
Our focus is on making exercise fun and helping kids understand the importance of being active. We also want to give them a variety of fitness activities to participate in so every child can enjoy being active and achieve a new personal goal. We play familiar PE games in order to create a fun club that kids want to participate in. Students improve their fitness goals and work to complete a 5K or more equivalent for running laps. We run a fall and spring session of Owls Play Outdoors (formerly known as Camp Fit).

Chess Club
Chess Club is a PTA sponsored activity in which students learn about chess and play the game for fun. Each meeting has a lesson on a new aspect of the game and allows time for students to play chess. We advocate practicing good sportsmanship, improving individual chess ability, and learning skills to help prepare for competition. Our mission is to promote chess and make it accessible to the student body by encouraging newcomers unfamiliar with the game as well as welcoming back our seasoned chess players.

Ecology Club
Meets once a month after school in the LMC. It’s a fun group that devotes all of its time to applying the 3R’s (reducing, recycling and reusing waste), appreciating nature and planning the Earth Fair for the school. We represent the environmental conscience of the school. This club is open to students in third through fifth grades (and younger siblings of those students). We welcome new participants all year long. If you are interested is leading this committee, please contact us.

Reflections
Reflections is a National PTA program which welcomes all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Here at Olive-Mary Stitt, the Reflections committee will promote and manage the PTA Reflections Art Program by raising awareness of the program within the school, promoting participation by the Olive students, submitting entries to the district PTA, and recognizing all entrants. If you are interested is leading this committee, please contact us.
