On February 22, the Every Owl Counts committee of the PTA will be hosting a culturally enriching performance of West African dance and live drum by Ayodele during the school day.
Ayodele, a Yoruba word meaning “Joy in the home,” is a diverse circle of performing female artists committed to studying and performing drum and dance as a wellness modality. Ayodele uses African drum and dance to educate and motivate young women and children through performances, community engagement and youth programs. Whether they are teaching children, healing the community with classes, producing sold out concerts, studying with female Samba Masters in Brazil, Master Djembe and Dununfolas of West Africa or spreading their healing energy through performances; Ayodele Drum & Dance remains an unending circle firmly rooted in joy.
PM Kindergarten families are invited to attend with their students at 9:15 or 10:20!
